A plant-based diet is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a diet that centered on eating fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains, and legumes. It cuts out meat and dairy products entirely.

The goal is to lower your intake of fatty, high-calorie foods so you can lose weight and feel happier and healthier. Many people believe we have to have milk and meat in our diet to survive. The truth is that we don’t.

In fact, many of the most unhealthy food choices you’re making may fall into those categories. Sugary desserts full of empty calories are another leading factor in bad nutritional choices.

There are also some other suspects in an unhealthy diet that fly below the radar. These are the things you drink. Alcoholic beverages, sugary soft drinks, and designer coffee drinks all add unnecessary calories into your diet that cause you to put on extra pounds.

The plant-based diet seeks to correct these issues. You end up eating low-calorie, healthy foods that are easily digested and leave you feeling great! Your body gets the nutrients it needs and avoids a lot of the fats, additives, and chemicals that come with eating processed foods.

When you combine these healthier meal choices with regular exercise (which can be as simple as walking), you’ll begin to see incredible results in a short period of time.
