How much exercise do I need to do while I'm on a plant-based diet?

A little exercise goes a long way…

When it comes to exercising on a plant-based diet, it’s really your choice.

Why do I say that?

The fact is that a plant-based diet is great because it lowers your calorie intake. In doing this, you’re very likely going to start losing weight simply by making the switch to a plant-based eating.

On the other hand, exercise is an excellent way to accelerate your progress on a plant-based diet! Now, you’re not only lowering your calorie intake, but you are also burning more calories as well! It’s like adding fuel to a fire and the results can be pretty incredible!

  • Do you need to exercise every single day? No.
  • Does it need to be intense aerobic exercise? Not at all.
  • Does every little bit help? I think so.

Am I telling you to go out and get a gym membership? Nope.

I’m not saying that’s a bad idea. In fact, it could be a great thing to work into your routine. It just isn’t what I chose to do personally.

I found that long walks are more my style. Putting in a couple of miles a few days a week served me well as I was working on shedding pounds. It’s low-key and simple.

You may be wired in a totally different way.

  • If you enjoy jogging, go for it!
  • If you like to ride a bike, hop on and go!
  • If you’re a swimmer, dive in!

Some people reading this may be limited in what they can do physically, due to health issues or disabilities. That doesn’t mean this diet won’t work for you. It just means you may have to take a more slow and steady course. (Spoiler alert: You can still win in the end!)

My main suggestion is just to do what you can. If you want to buy an exercise bike and set it up in your living room so you can watch your favorite show while you work off the weight, that’s great!

Chuck Norris fans can slide out their Total Gyms and tone up.

Any extra exercise helps, but the key to getting started and making good progress still comes back to lowering your calorie intake with a plant-based diet and drinking plenty of water.

These changes alone can absolutely transform your life for the better!
