Developing the Right Mindset for Losing Weight...
Question: Can having the right mindset really make a difference when it comes to losing weight?
Answer: Absolutely!
When it comes to preparing to lose weight, one of the best places to start is by taking full responsibility for where you are.
For those of you who’ve read Jack Canfield’s book The Success Principles: How to Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be, you’ll realize this idea is a part of every success story. (Side note: If you haven’t read this book, I highly recommend it. It’s definitely on my list of top 10 Personal Development books. I’ve included an affiliate link below for you!)
It seems like a great place for us to start too!
You see, as long as we’re looking for someone else to blame for where we are in life, or we’re making excuses about why we can’t change, we won’t be able to make progress toward our weight-loss goals.
So, starting today, let’s own where we are in terms of our weight. Maybe that’s 10 pounds heavier than you want to be, or maybe you feel like you’re closer to 50 pounds over your ideal weight.
Those numbers aren’t nearly as important as this realization: If I’m responsible for the decisions that led me to my current weight, then I can make better decisions that will lead me to my ideal weight.
Let that sink in, because as soon as you take responsibility for where you are, you can begin making the changes that will lead you where you want to be!
It all comes down to habits.
Our bad eating habits (along with bad thinking habits) led us to a place in life we’re not happy with.
Therefore, all we need to do is change our eating habits and adjust our mindset, so we can stop gaining weight; and instead, begin making steady progress toward our ideal weight.
